Please note that on-street parking is 4 hours max. There are nearby lots that offer early bird rates and have pretty low rates so we recommend parking in a lot if you can. There are two key metro lines that go by the University - Rapid Ride line E and the 8 on Denny.

About the Event

The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course is composed of seven modules that have been designed by experienced fundraising professionals to meet the real-world needs and challenges nonprofit organizations face every day. This 16-hour program includes case studies and projects for groups and individuals, making the learning experience both substantive and enjoyable. The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course offers a complete overview of the development function, featuring the most current information and techniques. This intensive program will provide an overview of skills, techniques and program components for individuals with 0 to 4 years of fundraising experience. 

The AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Course is presented through lecture, case studies, and the encouragement of participant dialogue. Each participant will receive a printed manual on the first day of the course.

Each of the following modules will be led by a seasoned fundraising professional. There will be seven speakers, one for each of the modules below. More information about our speakers coming soon!

Module 1: Overview of Fundraising - B. Michelle Johnson, CFRE, Legal Voice
Module 2: Developing an Integrated Fundraising Program -  Aggie Sweeney, CFRE, Campbell & Company
Module 3: Marketing for Ongoing Success - Christie Cotterill, CFRE, Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine

Target Audience

This course is designed for fundraisers who are new to the profession or who have 0 to 4 years of experience, including executive directors, program managers, special event coordinators, leadership volunteers, and others. 



Participants who complete this course will earn an AFP Fundamentals of Fundraising Certificate plus 16 points of Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credits in Category 1.B - Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.
