Two Days, Four Tracks, Innumerable Connections to Make

What do you want to learn? We are offering four distinct tracks at the 2019 Forum on Strategic Fundraising: Community, Career Advancement, Smart Structures, and Organization Culture. You can choose to follow one track or mix it up.

Here is a sampling of sessions you can attend. You can view the full program schedule online for more information.

Diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility is changing the ways we raise funds and fulfill our missions. In this track you will learn about ways to engage an increasingly diverse donor and fundraising community. These sessions are suitable for all experience levels and shop sizes.

Racism in the Industry, Michelle Muri, SVP Seattle, and Vu Le, Rainier Valley Corps

Intersectional Feminism in Fundraising and Philanthropy, Fleur Larsen, Fleur Larsen Facilitation and Aparna Rae, The Moving Beyond Initiative

Career Advancement
This track offers training in the critical skills we need to succeed not just as fundraisers, but also as leaders. Whether you are brand new to fundraising or ready for your next adventure, these sessions will help you thrive in the workplace.

Mission Creeps: What Every Fundraiser Should Know About Sexual Harassment, Megan McNally, Foundry Law Group

Donor Strategies: Metric, Culture, Compass, Krista Berg and Lana Harvey, University of Washington

Smart Structures
Improve your ability to hire and retain the best team, optimize your portfolio of fundraising activities, and engage your board. These sessions are suited for all shop sizes but may be of greater interest to more seasoned professionals.

The Art and Science of Donor Surveys, Ariel Glassman, The Ostara Group and Jeff Lockhart, Kirkland Performance Center

Transitioning with Integrity, How to Change Jobs, and Keep Your
Relationships Intact, Beth Castleberry, CFRE, King County Library Foundation; Lee Heck, University of Washington; and Suman Bhat-Kincaid, Bloodworks

Organization Culture
The way in which teams operate can have a major impact on staff morale, community relations, and financial results. Learn how to fine-tune your fundraising culture to be more inclusive, ethical, and empowering. Attendees of all experience levels and shop sizes welcome.

Working with Development Committees, Susan Howlett, Susan Howlett Consulting

Ethical Storytelling, Alison Cheung, Fuse Washington; Hong Chhuor, Seattle Opera; and Katelen Kellogg, Pride Foundation

And a Special Bonus…Headshots!

How old is that headshot of yours? Yes, we know you like how you look in it, but it’s probably time for a new one. As part of your ticket price to the Forum, you can get a new headshot by our photographer Jonathan Vanderweit. Just find the pop up studio, sponsored by the Ostara Group, during break times! Headshots are FREE for conference attendees. How’s that for a perk?

Register before April 23 to get Early Bird Pricing!

Register for both days of the Forum and get a discount, plus breakfast and lunch are included (and snacks!). You can sign up for individual days, but we encourage you to get the full experience by coming both Thursday and Friday. Register now!
