Author Laura van Dernoot Lipsky to be Keynote Speaker

Widely recognized as a pioneer in the field of trauma exposure, Laura has worked locally, nationally, and internationally for more than three decades. Early on, Lipsky realized the trauma she was witnessing and being intimately involved in, was seriously affecting her own health. She began studying the lasting effects on both individuals and communities of exposure to the suffering, hardship, crisis, or trauma endured by humans, other living beings, and our planet. Laura van Dernoot Lipksy, founder and director of The Trauma Stewardship Institute and author of Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others and The Age of Overwhelm will be the keynote speaker for the 2019 Forum on Strategic Fundraising.

With so many of us working in fields with vulnerable people, dealing with our own personal traumas, and concerned about the state of the world, Lipsky’s talk will help us develop strategies to soothe our souls so that we can better tend to our work.

24 Inspiring and Incredible Sessions in Four Tracks

Over the course of two days, attendees will be able to choose from 24 different sessions in four distinct tracks: Community, Career Advancement, Smart Structures, and Organizational Structures & Culture. You can mix and match tracks to find the right blend for you. Sessions and speakers are being finalized now. View the full schedule online and check back for updates.

Why should people come to the forum? The forum helps every organization do better, every fundraiser aim higher. The better question  is “Why WOULDN’T you come?”

– Maya Hemachandra, Solid Ground

Lightning Talks and Snack Time Sessions

Even during break times, you have to chance to learn and engage!

Lightning Talks are quick storytelling-based presentations modeled on the Ignite/PechuKucha format. Each speaker has five minutes to present a topic while their 20 slides automatically advance. It’s fun and it’s fast! (But don’t worry, there will be time for discussion after each speaker.)

In the Snack Time Sessions, grab a cookie and a colleague, and then head to one of several interactive discussions for a quick dive into a variety of topics.

Details coming soon about speakers and topics. View the full schedule online and check back for updates.

Volunteer at the Forum

It takes a village to run a Forum! Can you help out for part or all of the day? We need volunteers for registration/check-in, room monitors, photographer assistant, and more to be named later. This is a great way to get to know your fellow Advancement Northwest members and to give back to the organization. To sign up or learn more, please contact Madeline Mulloy at  [email protected]

Exhibit and Promote Your Business

Fundraisers need consultants, printers, photographers, graphic designers, videographers, event planners, event spaces, donor databases, floral arrangements, caterers, and more notepads (Just kidding about that last one. Fundraisers don't need more notepads; they just like them).

Learn more about getting your business in front of our 300+ attendees and sign up today!
