Types of Sponsorships & Partnerships

NDOA may enter partnerships characterized by different agreements and levels of responsibility as well as stated outcomes such as the following:

Collaborative: Work with one or more organization to achieve goals and objectives articulated by NDOA strategic plan as well as the agreed-upon objectives of interest to NDOA that are shared with collaborating organization(s).

Program: A working relationship in which training, networking and other program planning, implementation, evaluation, and resourcing is shared between NDOA and one or more organizations.

Funding: NDOA is one of two or more partners jointly funding a program or project. This type of partnership may also be a combined effort to seek contributed funds or sponsorship dollars to develop and implement a program or project.

Advocacy: NDOA is one or two or more partners working jointly to educate groups or the public at large about issues affecting philanthropy and the nonprofit sector of concern to its membership, and may or may not participate in activities designed to influence public policy and local, state, and federal legislation.

Sponsorship: Some organizations are considered strategically important "natural partners" for NDOA but the partnership agreement may be implemented as a sponsorship. It will be important to secure these high-value sponsorships and steward them as partnership relationships.
