2018 Professional Achievement Award Winner

Congratulations to Ray Li, the 2018 Professional Achievement Award winner!

This year's award goes to someone whose work in the community goes beyond his "day job" and extends into the whole philanthropic community. In addition to building the development team at Neighborhood House and the international fundraising department at the University of Washington, Ray was a leading force in what became the merger of Northwest Development Officers Association (NDOA) and AFP Washington (now Advancement Northwest) into one voice for the fundraising sector in Washington.

After getting past the shock of receiving an award like this, I realized that this is really not an award about me, but an award for all the people who choose to do good in this world and who I have had the good fortune of working with. You inspired me each day and kept my passion for the work alive.  I am also deeply indebted to the community of colleagues, friends and family who were willing to take a chance on me and who have helped shape who I am professionally today - you saw something in me that I never did, and I truly want to share this award with you.  Thank you.

– Ray Li, Director of International Advancement - Regional & International Giving, University of Washington

Each year, AFP Advancement Northwest honors one fundraising professional who exemplifies the highest standards of the profession. The award was started by NDOA in 1985 and continues to be the pinnacle of achievement for fundraising professionals in the Pacific Northwest.

If you are interested in celebrating this honor with Ray, join him at the Forum on Strategic Fundraising on June 7-8. The awards presentation will take place during the luncheon on Friday, June 8.
