Dear :
The great American poet William Carlos Williams wrote “it is not what you say that matters, but the manner in which you say it; there lies the secret of the ages.” We here at NDOA agree – and we want to give you the chance to unleash the power of that “secret” and use it to your benefit as a development professional. Because, while we all represent impactful organizations that are making our community a better place, we can’t simply assume those missions alone – the “what” – will inspire donors to invest. We have to motivate them by “the manner” in which we speak, write, Tweet about the need, the opportunity, the work, the impact. Over the next two months, NDOA presents three programs that will empower you to improve your donor communications: first, in “The Art of the Ask” session; then, a lively discussion of “Strategic Integration of Social Media”; rounded out by a “Writing Essentials” seminar that would undoubtedly make a man of letters like Mr. Williams very proud. We look forward to seeing you soon!

It’s your job as staff to help them alleviate those fears by showing them how to do it. Designed to provide useful tips and practical skills to help your CEO of Board successfully solicit gifts face-to-face, this interactive session gives you what you need to take the fear out of asking for your volunteers! Participants will learn how to:
- Execute the necessary steps behind-the-scenes to orchestrate a seamless ask for volunteers.
- Draft the essential components of the ask script and why it’s important to spell it out before-hand.
