Awards and Recognition

Recognizing Our Finest

Since 1985, NDOA has presented one annual professional achievement award, originally known as the Development Officer of the Year Award, it became the NDOA Professional Achievement Award in 1993 to reflect NDOA's commitment to and recognition of professional accomplishments and contributions to the advancement of philanthropy.

The award recipients are very different. They have been development directors, executive directors, major gift officers, and consultants. Yet, they have some common characteristics including:

  • A commitment to mentor others
  • Walking the talk of philanthropy through community service and raising funds for important mission-based organizations
  • The embodiment of integrity, professionalism, and excellence
