Session Title: The Annual Development Plan - What to Consider/What Does It Look Like
Description: You have just been tasked with developing your organization’s annual development plan and aren’t sure where to start. In this session you will explore what you should be considering as you develop your plan including case development and communications, prospect and donor constituencies, volunteer involvement, and staffing and infrastructure and implementation.
Speaker Bio: Thomas W. Mesaros, CFRE
Thomas W. Mesaros, CFRE, is President & CEO of The Alford Group, counsel to not-for-profits nationally since 1979. Tom has been a leader in non-profit management for more than 30 years and is a founding member and past president of the Northwest Development Officers Association. He is the current Chair of the Board for the Giving Institute, and a board member of the Giving USA Foundation, publishers of the annual Giving USA report on philanthropy.
Tom served as VP/Fund Development for the Sisters of Providence Health System; President of the Providence Foundation of Seattle; and Director of Financial Services for the Chief Seattle Council, Boy Scouts of America. He also served as a National Director for both the Association of Fund Raising Professionals and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Foundation, and as President of the Washington State and Western Massachusetts chapters of AFP. Tom has worked as counsel with countless not-for-profits, their executives, staff, and boards, to strengthen the development and organizational capacity of those organizations and the not-for-profit sector.
