Facilitator: Kristin Barsness, PhD, CFRE

Kristin Barsness, Ph.D., CFRE, Vice President, The Collins Group, has worked in the nonprofit sector for over two decades and has dedicated more than 12 years of that time to providing direct fundraising services. Her thoughtful, analytical style and balanced optimism makes her a trusted advisor to her clients. Dr. Barsness is directly involved in all aspects of campaign services including project management and strategy, board and staff training, donor relations and communications, and plan development, as well as with feasibility and development advancement study oversight. Dr. Barsness also leads TCG’s Product and Innovation Team, which is responsible for new product development and enhancing current products in response to emerging community need. In addition to her development expertise, she is a trained anthropologist, curator, and scholar who holds doctorate and master’s degrees in Anthropology from Bryn Mawr College, and a BA in Anthropology and Archaeology from Cornell University.  Currently, she is president-elect of the AFP South Sound Chapter.
